The event was led by project coordinator Giorgi Targamadze and a researcher Anatoli Korepanov. The project, which is funded by European Council, cooperates with &#8220;Danish Sport Studies Institute&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event was attended by: Deputy of Georgian Parliament&#8217;s Sport and Youth Affairs Committee Mikheil Kavelashvili; Vasil Liparteliani, who is the head of department of Sport Reserach and Analysis Department of Georgian Ministry of Sports, Science and Culture; The president of Georgian handball Federation Zurab Kakabadze and other representatives of sports federations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project will research the usage of good governance principles within the 5 national sports federations (wrestling, football, handball, tennis and water sports). The above mentioned federations will be rated on 274 criterias, which includes 4 main directions: 1) Transparency 2) Democratic processes 3) reporting and control 4) responsibility towards the society.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project aims to support the usage of good governance standards within the sport federations. Its goals also are:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Supporting education and development of people involved in sports;<\/li>\n<li>Further development of government&#8217;s monitoring system of good governance standards within sports;<\/li>\n<li>Collecting comparative data, which will also be used by international researchers;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">GSAC is an exclusive partner of Sports Research Institute of Denmark.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The results of the project will be reported in December of 2018.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 9th October of 2018, a project &#8220;Good governance standards in Georgian sport federations&#8221; was presented at Georgian Strategic Analysis Center.
