Nodar Kharshiladze

Nodar Kharshiladze is one of the founders of the Georgian Strategic Analysis Centre. He was named Senior Fellow at the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies in 2013. Mr. Kharshiladze has over 14 years of work experience in international relations, defense and NATO integration. He started his career as a civil servant in 2001 at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. In 2005, Mr. Kharshiladze was named Head of the Defense Policy and Planning Department. He served as the First Deputy Minister of Defense from 2009-2012. Mr. Kharshiladze was responsible for strategic planning, transformation and reform, international relations and NATO, management and HR, PPBS and NATO integration. In 2012 he worked as the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia on issues such as the portfolio for transformation, international relations, HR, Planning, NATO and EU integration. Mr. Kharshiladze holds a B.A. from Ankara Police Academy, Turkey (2000) and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Security Studies from the National Defense University, Washington DC, USA (2008). In 2004 Mr.Kharshiladze completed a one year training course in International Relations and National Security organized by GFSIS and RAND corporation. In 2004 he attended a one year training course in Public Policy Analysis coordinated by the Canadian International Development Agency. Furthermore, Mr.Kharshiladze participated in the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Netherlands special program in “Defence Planning and NATO Integration” in 2005-2007.
