Shalva Dzebisashvili

Shalva Dzebisashvili is one of the founders of the Georgian Strategic Analysis Center. He received an EU Commission doctoral fellowship (GEM) in September 2012, successfully defended his thesis and received the doctoral degree at the Institute for European Studies (IEE-ULB, Brussels) in January 2016. He is an associate professor at the University of Georgia (UG) and a member of various Georgian non-governmental organizations and think-tanks such as the Civil Council on Defense and Security (CCDS), Georgian Strategic Analysis Center (GSAC) and the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS). Since 2003 he has served in various senior defense policy and planning-related positions at the Georgian Ministry of Defence. From 2008-2009 he successfully completed a M.A. course in Strategic Security Studies at the National Defense University in Washington D.C., and consequently took over the position of Senior Civilian Representative of Georgian MOD (Defense Advisor) to the Georgian Mission to NATO. He is the author of several academic publications and press articles.
